The Box You Can Not Leave Home Without

Tronixpro Tackle Box

For years now I have been lugging around a Shakespeare Team Tackle Box so I thought it was time to get a smaller seat box, I came across a TronixPro one in my local Tackle shop Bait and Tackle Ryde.

The first thing that pulled my attention to this box is the colour the green and black really set this box off I changed the sticker on mine for a larger one, The box it self is very hardy and at about half the size of my team box but this is just what I was looking for.  It comes with a strap with a comfy rubber shoulder pad and a foam seat cushion which you stick on the top yourself.

On the inside it keeps getting better.
It has two sections a smaller top compartment which has 4 smaller tackle boxes incorporated into the lid as you can see they come in very handy for bits and bobs.
For the main part you can remove the plastic dividers to fit different sized tackle in.
The Main compartment there is plenty of room in there to put stuff like your Tronixpro rig winder box, spear line, reels etc.

Over all I am very pleased with this buy It is an ideal all round box for all types of fishing and I would recommend this to any angler out there looking for a new seat box at £28 cant go wrong.

YOKOZUNA SURF

Yokozuna Ryoshi Surf

The Yokozuna Ryoshi surf hybrid tip is a Japanese style surf/beach casting rod. The rod its self a carbon blank, suitable for fixed spool users comes in 3 sections totalling 4.2 meter (14ft) and a casting weight of 100-200g (3-7oz).
SIC LC guilds and a metal butt cap and a DPS screw-lock reel seat.

I think most people will know the Yokozuna name well for the wide range of lures they have on offer but how many of you anglers have used one of there rods. The Yokozuna range are available from Tronixpro I brought this one from Bait and Tackle Ryde @ £52.99 which for the price you pay you are getting an extremely good all round rod.

I found the rod itself is very nice looking it most certainly stands out with the yellow colouring in addition to the colour the Fuji SiC guilds and Fuji reel seat and highly finished wiping sets the whole rod off.
It casts extremely well, I've used up-to a 5oz and bait but I found that a 3-4oz works best (for myself) it has certainly improved my casting distance (adding maybe 20 to 30 yards) so I am pleased, using a tronixpro 5/0 pulley rig with the hybrid tip it has a very sensitive bite detection and even with a 3oz on it keeps it ground, I will be looking at getting some more rods and reels from Tronixpro

Probably best described as a Continental style rod, I believe that this style of rod are used widely in Spain and are fast becoming very popular in the UK. I think that this rod with the Yokozuna Surf 60 6000 reel combination work really well.

Yokozuna Ryoshi Surf 60 6000

In combination with the surf rod this reel  dose what it says on the box it is a very smooth well casting reel, made in ultra-light, corrosion-resistant graphite it has a 7 bearing technology = 1 infinite anti-reverse bearing  6 ball bearing. Progressive, watertight adjustable drag system makes setting the drag easy which really works well.

With the Balanced rotor and over sized line guild, Machined aluminium handle with a over-sized rubber grip it make the reel a pleasure to use. The reel comes with a aluminium standard capacity spool and 2 special spare graphite spools for surf casting. Although I have not tried surf casting with this combo yet I'm 110% sure that it will not let me down,

Overall I'm that impressed with this combo that I will be looking at buying some more rod and reel combos from Yokozuna and cant wait to trying them out I will be looking at maybe something I can use on the boat.

Tronixpro Bait Knife

I have only used this bait knife a few times now but I am pleased with its over all performance.
So the Tronixpro 4 inch bait knife is nice and sharp you get a good grip on the handle.  Its dose what it says it cuts bait and line.

It comes with a neat little cover which has a safety clip to stop it falling off as well a handy little hooked groove to cut your line at a guess (well this is what I used it for) for £3.00 you can't go wrong it makes a good addition to any anglers tackle box comes in black and orange in stock now @Tronixpro and @Bait and Tackle Ryde.

Tronixpro Krystal MainLine Review

I went to my local bait and tackle shop and island supplier of TronixproBait and Tackle Ryde.
looking for some new line at first glance the Krystal mainline is thinner than most 20 lb line @0.37 mm, 490m spool testing at home it is just as tolerant as 40/44 mm for breaking, Krystal mainline comes in 12, 15, 20 and 30 lb @ £5.99.

Most of you would agree with me if I said fishing is fun, but when you lose a fish or tackle it can be disappointing and can bother you the rest of the session, So having quality line is a must.
I must say that I am confident that this mainline will do the job as well as some of the more expensive brands. Krystal mainline is smooth to the touch casts well with weights to 6oz and bait (max for my rod) it is a all round tough hi tech copolymer mainline if your looking for a mainline that is good quality and good value for money then this is for you.

Coming in a variety of 4 sizes: 675m of 12lb, 590m of 15lb, 490m of 20lb and 300m of 30lb breaking strains.

Also there is the Krystal XT a premium quality copolymer available in spools of,
1,380m of 12lb, 1,156m of 15lb, 925m of 20lb and 581m of 30lb.

Krystal Shockleader offers a tough yet supple leader on 50m spools of 40lb, 50lb, 60lb and 80lb.

I will add to this review after some more testing.

Ryde Pier

I often fished Ryde Pier as a teenager with my friends but I must admit that my later years there has been a decline in fishing this mark as I often here mixed reports on the fishing there and to be honest the times that I have fished there have been blanks.

So when I went in to get some bait from Drew at bait and tackle ryde last week we were talking we were heading for Yarmouth Pier but after our talk nick and I headed for Ryde Pier,
The wind had dropped and turned out to be a nice evening we were fishing the run off and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of bites we were getting.

I was the first to bring a fish in which turned out to be a smooth hound pup followed by nick with one him self of about 2-3lb.

I got very surprised when I pulled in a Tub Gurnard.
I also remember my first Gurnard was caught from Ryde Pier when I was just 15 that one being a Red Gurnard.
There were other fish pulled out including a small sole, dogfish, pout, eel and more smooth hounds.
I must say in closing that it is a mark I putting more effort into fishing being a Ryde lad.

Sole Fishing

My first charter trip (not my last) just a small blog for now.
We set out at 7 pm on SeaRaider with skipper Jason Lovell in search of sole bait was supplied by Drew at bait and tackle Ryde,

I've always heard that Jason puts you right on the fish and this is true it was slow to start with but soon picked up with a verity of fish being caught.

The first sole was caught by Jeff closely followed by Nick with a Flounder

In between there was a small bass and Smooth-hound pup caught by Brad followed by a Pout for me (seems to me that its all I catch at the moment) Next was Nick with a Sole
Followed by Brandon's Smooth-hound pup. (looks happy lol)

After this the wind started to pick up a bit so moved behind the brake water for some shelter where Jeff Had his 2nd Sole and Brad had another small Bass.

Only Crabs for the rest of us but a lovely evening non the less Jason also made the tea which was nice.
I will be going out again soon but for now if you want a trip with Jason then contact him searaiderfishingcharters or phone 07507 535971
